What business are you in?
Solar Monopoly is legally registered in the health and beauty industry sector. As a brand, our primary focus is creating sun protection products that support people to have better sun care habits.
Who is your target market?
Our target market is primarily adults aged 20 to 35, who lead an active lifestyle and are interested in either skincare, art, or fitness. Our products are developed with the highest care from the formulation to the packaging. We consider the form as well as the function because we want our products to fit even with individuals with the busiest activities.
What is your competitive advantage?
1. Research and development: We want our products to be as perfect as possible. Our first launches, Sunday Afternoon and Over the Waterlilies, were in development for 2,5 years and 30+ formula revisions before we finally achieve what we wanted. We also invested in ensuring that our products are tested to the industry's standard. Sunday Afternoon is tested In Vivo ISO 24444 method for SPF value and In Vitro COLIPA method for SPF and PA values, ensuring reliable sun protection.
2. Packaging: Our primary packaging is environmentally friendly with the aluminum bottles being infinitely recyclable. And the flag label can double its function as a hanger by looping a cord through it. Makes it easier to carry the products anywhere. Each of our products has its dedicated artwork, with a paper box designed to optimally showcase both product information and artwork, as well as reduce production waste by creating custom dielines.
3. Our tagline Apply, Carry, Reapply: It's the foundation of every product that we create. We believe that it is possible to have consistent all-day and everyday sun protection by following the Apply, Carry, Reapply protocol. Our first launches are Sunday Afternoon and Over the Waterlilies, their portable form and mist format make it easy to carry and reapply anytime.
4. Educative and informative content: From the start, Solar Monopoly also aims to spread better awareness about sun protection by consistently publishing useful methods and proven information on our Instagram page.
Who is your competition? Is there a competitor that you admire most? If so, why?
We really admire the warm and friendly approach to selling skincare from @kitschy.beauty and @skingameofficial. They are very open and personal about their business, including their successes and struggles. We hope to learn a lot from these local brands and come up with products that are new to the customers and true to our identity.
